In the Beginning

history image

Henry Falk, a Dutch Mennonite whose family pioneered in the Siberian region of Russia before immigrating to Canada, first started working as a farmer and construction contractor when he arrived in British Columbia. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Henry built homes and barns for the local farming community before he eventually began to operate a lumber supply store in the South Poplar area of Abbotsford. Once his children came of age, Henry brought them into the family business.

The Lumber Yard Years

company history

Abe Falk and his brothers continued their father’s pursuit by carrying on the family business in the construction industry. While operating the lumber yard for decades, they were able to grow the company substantially by diversifying its operations into other fields.

Growth and More Growth!

Agricultural building

In 1985, Abe Falk founded Twin Maple Construction Services (originally called Cousin Construction Corporation) as a part of the Twin Maple Group of Companies. Shortly after, the company was handed down to Ron Born and Ken Falk, the family’s third generation of builders in Canada. In the decades to come, Ron and Ken followed the family tradition of serving the rural Fraser Valley community, while also expanding the company into the commercial building industry.

In 2018, Dustin Born, son of Ron Born, stepped into an ownership position as the new President of Twin Maple Construction. By continuing the family legacy of building the community, the team from Twin Maple Construction strives to continue to leave a mark in the economic and social narrative of the Fraser Valley.
